Race entry:
Entry is online only with no on-the-day admissions. Minimum age is 18 years.
Transfers:
If you have entered and cannot run, you can transfer your number to someone you know, or we can put you in touch with the runner at the top of the waiting list. For someone you know, please provide name, address, DoB, club (if applicable), email address and phone number. For all transfers, please use the Si Entries system.

Number collection, bag drop and the race start and finish are at:
Stamford Welland Academy (formerly Queen Eleanor School), Green Lane, Stamford, Lincolnshire, PE9 1HE
Stamford is easily accessed from:
- The north or south via the A1
- Leicestershire, via the A47 and A6121
- The Midlands via the M6, A14 and A43
Once in Stamford, signs showing 'The 30k' will direct you to race HQ.
Facilities:
At Race HQ you will find:
- Toilets (there are no separate changing rooms/showers)
- Manned baggage storage area (bags and contents left at runners' risk "keyless go" keys should be in a Faraday pouch)
- Massages for a charitable donation
- Hot and cold refreshments
- Professional medical services
Parking on race day:
If you live locally, please arrive on foot. Otherwise, please car share if possible and use PE9 1HE for your SatNav.
Signs and marshals will direct you to car parks near race HQ. We will park the earliest arrivals at the nearest locations, so please allow marshals to guide you. The furthest car park is a 10-15 min walk (6-8 min warm up jog) from race HQ.
Please do not park on residential roads. We have plenty of off-road parking, and if we annoy the locals we risk losing permission for the event in future.
Race numbers:
Your race number with embedded timing chip is issued from Race HQ, which is Stamford Welland Academy in Green Lane.
You can pick up your race number from 9am on race day, or the day before (Saturday 13th February 2027), 9.30am-11am.
Medical and contact details should be written on the back of your number.
The start:
The race will start at 11am on the road immediately outside the school.
The course:
The 30km course has been certified as an accurate measurement. It is a scenic, rural route with some undulations - but plenty of vociferous support. There are water stations and jelly babies along the ways. Please help us keep the countryside tidy by discarding litter at drinks stations, marshal points or KM markers, which we can pick up easily after the event. Course map available here.
Water stations:
Manned water stations are at intervals of approximately 5k. Jelly babies will be on offer too.
Headphones:
UKA race rules state 'in ear' and 'over ear' earphones are not allowed. 'Bone conductor' headphones are. We permit 'bone conductor' headphones but remind entrants that the race is almost entirely on public roads open to traffic. For your safety, the safety of others, and for the sanity of our marshals and first aiders, ensure you can hear the traffic, other runners and marshals at all times.
We love our race, and we don't want a nasty accident ending three decades of it on a seriously low note. So, our preference is that you leave headphones at home.
Cut off time:
4 hours (3pm), subject to the Safety Officer's decision on the day. Our marshals are a tough bunch, but they're not paid, and frostbite might hinder their own running.
The finish:
The race finishes on the sports field at the school. When you cross the line, please keep moving through to where food and water will be available.
Results and prizes:
Finishing times for prizes will be from the gun start to your chip's finish. Chip to chip times will be available in the published results.
Prizes will be awarded for the following categories:
- Male: first, second and third
- Female: first, second and third
- Valentine's couple: first and second (combined race times, genuine couples only)
There is also a £350 cash prize to anyone breaking the open men's or ladies course records (not the age group records).
Prizes will be awarded as soon as possible after the race.
Cancellation :
In the event of adverse weather conditions or any other circumstances, pandemics or endemics outside of our control, whereby it is deemed unsafe or ill advised to run the race, the event will be cancelled or postponed to a future date. The Race Director’s decision on this is final. In the event of cancellation refunds will be available.
